Board & Train
Board & Train is for owners who want a real change and cannot run structured sessions three times a day themselves. Your dog lives with us in a highly structured environment: obedience blocks, enrichment, decompression, and sleep, all on schedule.
Training happens indoors and outdoors, across our climate-controlled center and 10 acres of fenced ground, so the behavior holds up in more than one room. We build communication first, then reliability under distraction.
Before pickup, you come in for a hands-on owner workshop where the training transfers to you. You also get lifetime access to our weekly group sessions, so the dog we send home stays the dog you live with.
How it works
Inside the program
Beyond basic obedience: recall, sit, stay, leash walking, and off-leash control, drilled to consistency indoors and out.
Steve builds each plan around temperament, history, and learning style. Two dogs in the same week rarely run the same schedule.
Training moves through changing environments and genuine distractions so the skills transfer to your house, your street, and public spaces.
Over 10 acres of fenced outdoor space plus modern indoor training areas reinforce behavior across contexts.
Leash pulling, jumping on guests, barking, impulse control, and off-leash unreliability are addressed directly, not managed around.
Weekly open-mat group sessions stay open for life, and consultations remain available as your dog matures.

The fine print
- Training results vary with the dog’s age, temperament, behavioral history, health, and consistency at home.
- Program placement and duration may be adjusted after evaluation. Completing a program does not guarantee permanent behavior without continued reinforcement at home.
- Phase 2 requires successful completion of Phase 1 unless otherwise approved by a Canine Nation trainer.
- Group classes are free for life once a dog has been through any program.
